"Julia Fox Spicy Autobiography ‘Down The Drain’ Is Being Developed"

In an exclusive revelation, Julia Fox shared with Deadline on Friday at the Sundance Film Festival studio that her shocking New York Times bestselling tell-all, "Down the Drain," is in the works to be adapted into a series, with Joey Soloway at the helm. The actress, currently part of the cast of Steven Soderbergh’s spooky house movie, "Presence," made this announcement ahead of the world premiere of the film at the Library Theatre in Park City.

"Down the Drain," released in October, delves into Fox's tumultuous journey from a challenging youth to becoming a dominatrix, a multi-hyphenate fashionista-actress, and a social media influencer. The book narrates her upbringing amidst volatile parents in Italy and New York City, her harrowing experiences with an abusive, drug-dealing boyfriend haunting her from Rikers Island, her stints in jail and a psychiatric hospital, her involvement as a dominatrix leading to a complex relationship with a sugar daddy, a heroin addiction leading to New Orleans trap houses, overcoming the drug struggles after a friend's fatal overdose, her battles as a single parent, and her rise as a home-grown fashion designer and star of the cult noir thriller "Uncut Gems," alongside other impactful moments.

Speaking about the potential TV series adaptation, Fox revealed that it is likely to be "meta," with the possibility of her playing herself and auditioning another actress to portray her.

"Presence" marks the second collaboration between Fox and Steven Soderbergh, with the first being the HBO Max noir title "No Sudden Move." Joey Soloway, a two-time Emmy-winning creator known for the Amazon series "Transparent," will be steering the development of the series. Soloway, having achieved success with outstanding directing in a comedy series for "Transparent" in 2015 and 2016, also produced HBO’s "Six Feet Under" and Showtime’s "The United States of Tara." They served as creator and director for the Amazon series "I Love Dick," featuring Kevin Bacon and Kathryn Hahn. The collaboration promises an exciting adaptation of Julia Fox's captivating life story.
